National Geographic Channel is inviting everyone to send a message to aliens using Twitter. All tweets will be encrypted into a single message and then will be sent out to the sky on August 15, 2012.

I will definitely throw something to them, and you should also. To send the message, compose a new tweet and include the hashtag #ChasingUFOs with it. Tweets composed on Friday, 29 June between 09:00 to 16:00 GMT will only be considered valid for this.

This is not a start of new conversation, but a reply to "The WOW! Signal." which was picked up by scientists in 1977. It was a very powerful radio wave coming from space, lasted for 72 seconds only. For decoding purpose, its print out was taken. On this, a scientist circled the signal and wrote "Wow!" as a comment. This comment became the name of the signal.

Now exactly after 35 years, all the recorded messages will be beamed into space in the same direction from which the so called "WOW!" signal was received.

Alongside your tweets, NatGeo have some video messages to be sent into space. One such video is of Ms. Universe Leila Lopes. Because scientists thinks that aliens may want to know about the most beautiful people from our universe.
