Indian Railway is now providing the live tracking of Indian Trains' running status. Now one can know the exact location, speed and direction of the train from website or through SMS. The project is named as SIMRAN (Satellite Imaging for Rail Navigation) which uses GPS service for monitoring trains continuously.

For passenger convenience and for environment friendly transactions, Indian Railways will now accept virtual e-tickets. The printed e-ticket is also acceptable. This virtual e-ticket is called VRM (Virtual Reservation Message) and can be shown to ticket examiner through any withscreen electronic gadget such as laptops, palmtops, Mobile phone etc.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has decided to limit SMS usage by imposing a new rule with effective from September 27. According to this new rule you will not be able to send more than 100 SMS from a single SIM. The Regulations provide that no service provider shall provide any service packs that allow customers to send more than 100 SMSs in a day.
